I purchased my a pair of dachshunds three years ago and named them Jack and Jill . Jill who is the the bees knees is only 17 pounds and Jack comes in at nineteen pounds. I got them kind a by accident their owners both moved on to the next world a year apart. . I had never planned to breed these wonderful dogs. .What is surprising is that I have had five different litters.I think the pups are the cutest pups Ive ever seen. . When Jill had her first litter I wasn't home . It took me by surprisal when she had them as I had no idea how pregnant she actually was when we bought her . We found more puppies behind the toilet, one was still in the sack and not breathing.

Jill was shaking with the situation of her dachshund puppies and was really worried. We put her down on the ground and place the pup next to her so it could try and suckl. . Luckily about an hour or so later Jill took to the new little chap so we were all delighted. . We thought we only had the two pups after looking around and finding no more.

After that evening we went up stairs to bed. . The new baby dachsund and her mummy Jill were in our room for the night in order that nothing unusual happened between them in the middle of the night. After getting her settled in a box my husband went to shut the light off. . As he was hitting the switch he listened a puppy whimper .

He slowly glanced behind the door as he didnt want to scare anyone. . There he found another surviving puppy laying in my other dogs bed with her. . Jade was licking it all over making sure that it was alright. Jade is an 88 lb rottweiler so to say my husband was surprised would be something of an irony.

Jade was never lucky enough to have a dachshund . What is really odd is that she does have milk when Jill has baby doxies. Jade is quite sure that Jills pups are her own and Jill even lets her feed her . They are always with her without hesitation. Jill dosn't seem to mind. Jade is very protective of the pups but she acts like Skippy and Jack are her puppys too . They nap in one big pile Skippy,Jill,Jade and the babies. .

I have never seen so many dog sitters for a miniature dachshund. They launch themselves from a great distance onto poor old Jade yet she adores it . Jade wags her big old tail and snuggles them with her mouth, they love the attention. It's funny seeing her jump at them and they jump right back .It constantly surprises me that all of the puppys have never been hurt as the size difference between Jade and them is massive.
